Lanie is from Northern Michigan and is currently living in Southeast Alaska. She is married and you may see her name written as 'Lanie Barsy' at times.

Lanie lives and creates on the traditional lands of the Tlingit people, and she wishes to respectfully acknowledge and honor the A’akw Kwáan and T’aaku Kwáan, the Indigenous people of this land.
